AIA Dallas Headquarters
James R. Thompson, Inc. (JRT) built the new Dallas home of the American institute of Architects (AIA) and AD EX, The Architecture and Design Exchange in the historic Republic Center building in the heart of Downtown-Dallas. The three phase, $1.9 million-dollar two floor project was completed in 26 weeks.
The design team of OMNIPLAN Architects created a usable open-office concept utilizing a high-end creative blend of finishes. A large portion of the project was donated from vendors and JRT worked with each of them to ensure we kept proper project controls and remained on schedule while providing the owner with over $500,000 in savings. The Project Team was able to harness a top-quality design while acknowledging our owner budget expectations as well. The 16,000 square foot project was constructed in three phases spanning over two. It showcased an eye catching newly constructed street entry with a seamless glass vestibule. We created an Exhibit space featuring a unique movable display panel track system suspended from the ceiling structure. We also built lecture rooms equipped with operable partitions, new connecting staircases connecting both floors, staff breakroom and three multi-use restrooms.
