JRT, Inc opened the doors in 1983 off Oak Grove Ave in Uptown Dallas. This was memorialized by Hawaiian shirt mustache guy in the photo to your left. Oddly enough, the Thompson family moved to Oak Grove Texas around the same time where the boys would build fences and chase cattle for the foreseeable future. Founded by Jim Thompson, the company targeted high-end Tenant Finish-Out, and developed a reputation for quality, customer service, trustworthiness, and long-term partnerships with repeat clients and subcontractors.

In 2014, after 30 years and over 1,000 successful construction projects, the family started to transfer operations to the next generation. Ryan Thompson was promoted to President and Todd Grogan was promoted to VP of Operations.

In 2019 JRT surpassed the $1 Billion mark in completed projects after finishing the American Airlines Terminal D Flagship Lounge. Lance Thompson was promoted to Senior Project Manager and Cody Thompson joined the firm as SPM after returning to The Republic after 15 years of building in Los Angeles. This marked the first time all three brothers were involved in day-to-day operations of the family-owned company since moving day in 1983 (Also memorialized in the photo to your left).

Today the company is thriving under the 2nd Generation of Thompsons just as it did under our founder, and the Best of the Best T-38 Pilot, Jim Thompson.
