Plaza of the americas

James R. Thompson, Inc. was selected as the general contractor for the Plaza of the Americas repositioning project, which was phased into two parts. There were renovations to the atrium, elevator lobbies, management office, conference center, fitness center, and garage entry structure.

The 60,000 square foot atrium remodel was the largest portion of the project. This project included the removal of the ice rink and construction of a park themed plaza with fountains, retail pavilions, and dining areas. The public area flooring was replaced with new Kerlite tile and ipe wood decking. The management office, conference center, and fitness center became high finish spaces with facilities to accommodate employees and attract tenants. The upgraded garage entry features a unique stainless steel arbor structure with signage and lighting to highlight the entry.
